Coach Brian’s swimming career began when he was just
6-years-old. He swam for Cheltenham Aquatic Club (CAC) outside
Philadelphia. He grew up in their program and during college began
coaching for CAC. He spent two years with the club before moving to
Baltimore.
In 2008, Coach Brian became a swim instructor with the Michael Phelps Swim School and began coaching NBAC’s stroke clinic. In 2013, he began coaching our age group swimmers. Today, he oversees our Discovery 2, and Imagination 2 & 4 groups.
In addition to his NBAC coaching responsibilities, he managed and coached the summer swim team at Otterbein Swim Club from 2008-2013. When he can, he continues to assist that club with swim meets.
Coach Brian is a proud Towson University Tiger, graduating in December 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
Coach Charles has been with NBAC since 2017, coaching
everything from Explorers and Discovery to Imagination and
Challenge. Currently, Coach Charles works with our Challenge and
Discovery groups. He is a big proponent
of swimmer development and technique, analyzing and
breaking down races with swimmers to help them improve.
In 2014, Charles headed up his first Developmental Swim Team, helping young swimmers learn proper stroke techniques. His desire to teach and grow as a coach has continued to flourish and he is looking forward to helping young swimmers progress to the next level.
