North Baltimore Aquatic Club -- Maryland's Top Team
The North Baltimore Aquatic Club (NBAC) was established in 1968 with a mission of supporting the regional swimming community in the development of outstanding young women and men. This community focus was realized by providing high-quality instruction for swimmers while keeping our core values of opportunity, development and fellowship in mind. Winning with NBAC is the byproduct of the fun, enthusiasm and hard work of its membership.
Our diligently designed, professionally coached and internationally renowned program encourages the development of character and self-discipline through achievement in sport. These qualities, alongside activities designed to engage creative imagination and foster hard work, focus our athletes on the disciplined pursuit of excellence both in and out of the pool. NBAC is committed to safeguarding the well-being of all members by creating a safe, healthy, and positive environment. The welfare of its athlete members is our top priority.
NBAC is an international leader in club-level swimming. From our early learn-to-swim opportunities to our high-performance senior groups, our dedicated focus on mission has been emulated by swim clubs around the United States. At the high-performance level, NBAC’s record of achievement remains unmatched in American swimming with National Age Group, American and World Records numbering in the hundreds. NBAC graduates have matriculated to prestigious universities and found considerable success in their post-swimming careers. In the pool, NBAC has developed 14 Olympic and Paralympic Athletes with over 50 medals accumulated since 1984 – with at least one gold won in each of the last 5 decades. This legacy of excellence is a result of a program that builds self-confidence and belief in our athletes. What might be considered extraordinary elsewhere occurs daily at NBAC. Whether it’s our 8 year-olds discovering the keys to the butterfly, our age-group set challenging themselves to incrementally work towards big dreams or our high-performance group practicing on World Record pace, we succeed because we dare to.
